Calming February hues.

My china blue roses linen is the perfect soft delicate background for a February flat lay.

I love to take a minute, with a cup of chamomile tea, my wild flowers book for new inspiration, a fresh bloom and a scrap of one of my fabrics. It helps me creatively- to calm my mind, see where I’ve been and make plans for where I’m going.

It’s also a pleasing composition of textures for flat lay photography. The fragile paper thin bloom, the texture of the linen, the cover of the book and the cup of tea all work in harmony to create a calming February hue with a pleasing form.

My designs reflect the seasons and my mood of that moment, I remember painting this one  one whimsical evening when the light was hazy and the roses had wilted slightly on their branches. At the moment my designs are very bold and full of the joys of Spring, my colour palette at the moment is pastel bright, and my prints are bolder as I’m really loving designing blocks! However this digitally printed linen is still one of my favourites, and is always a beautiful inspiration on its own!
